Broken into four sections, the poems and short stories collection is centred around the the circle of life, and the stages we follow throughout, with each chapter representing the beginning, the middle, the end, and the after.
The Great Irish Elk's poems share key subjects and themes surrounding life, love, legacy and loss; learning to appreciate the past, respect the present and nourish the future, whatever it may hold, before and after life has come and gone. The Great Irish Elk is about building a legacy and a reputation beyond your extinction, and continually evolving beyond your realm of capabilities, carefully navigating to avoid it becoming your own demise. Rebirth occurs continually again and again throughout our lifetimes, as we follow, change, or create the paths we choose to walk. We must kill the versions of ourselves that are holding us back, to revive and give birth to stronger and more beautiful versions of who we could possibly be.
