Thomas is called on a mission to Creole as the first Supai on a collaborative mission with Dughall and Kasbah. The twins struggle to learn healing and how to become Zenshi. Missing Thomas, they try not to worry as things start to take a turn for the worse with an unknown poison and war brewing with Amah.
Being part of the Black and Priamos family is difficult for the twins. In frustration, Thatcher says things to his older brother he doesn't mean but will it be too late to apologize? As Thatcher deals with his guilt, Thalia worries for her nearly silent twin as well as her older brother. With a power she doesn't understand, Thalia knows that things aren't going well for Thomas. Will she tell her family or keep quiet as they have enough to worry about?
