The Golden Range, by Ira A Cole, is a collection of stories about the wild and challenging life of settling western Kansas in the late 1800s. The setting is Ness County, Kansas, near the town of Bazine starting in 1878. Each chapter is a unique story, somewhat independent of the rest, that gives a unique perspective to the life these early pioneers faced.
