Publisher's Synopsis
Liza Pankhurst is a 19-year-old woman living in Edwardian London with her Grandfather. She does not adhere to social norms and instead is interested in science, mechanics, and, most of all, piloting the giant air balloons that make up travel in this slightly steam-punk take. She joins up with her friend, Mary, and several others to track down a missing scientist who claims to have visited people who live in the clouds. Their plan is thwarted by a competing oligarch who wants to steal the ballooning technology of the cloud people for military purposes. They race to rescue the scientist and stop the oligarch in a showdown with the cloud people in the Caribbean.
