Excerpt from The Glory of the God of Israel Displayed: Being the Substance of a Sermon Preached at Liverpool, Before the Wesleyan Ministers of the Nova-Scotia District, on Monday, 26th of May, 1834
The bright cloud which descended upon the tabernacle of the congregation, is called by Moses, the glory of the Lord. Then went up Moses, and Aaron, N adab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under his feet as it were a paved work Of sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. And the glory of the Lord abode upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and the seventh day he called unto Moses out Of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the glory Of the Lord was like devouring fire onthe top of the Mount in the eyes Of the children Of Israel. Ex. 24. 9, 10, 16, 17.
