Publisher's Synopsis

The author goes from America to England in search of family history. What he finds in North Yorkshire are ghosts or spirits who return to his family's ancestral village castle and recount their time there as visitors or who lived there. Cawood Castle was home to the Archbishops of York for over two hundred years--1300-1500. King Henry VIII visited the castle in 1541 with his queen Catherine Howard and her lover, Thomas Culpeper. Before that, Cardinal Thomas Wolsey resided at the castle and began a rebuilding program before he was arrested for treason by King Henry VIII. In this fictional account, Wolsey, Howard, and Culpeper come back to Cawood Castle for a trial of King Henry VIII for murder and theft. Three former kings and nine archbishops serve as the jury.
