Publisher's Synopsis
Lily Putnam and her son Walt had to hold it all together at the isolated New Mexico homestead while her husband went to work for the Union Pacific Railroads to earn the money for a team and wagon. Everything was going well until a trio of renegades arrived in their secret valley to terrorize them. Lily and Walt knew of a man who lived in the valley, although they had never spoken or seen him but he seemed to protect them from the renegades. When tragedy struck, Lily rode into the mountains to tell him that her world had been shaken to the foundations.
