It is therefore a matter of sincere regret that appropria tions for a continuation of such work in parts of the State outside of the anthracite region should have been stopped. By the Legislature, inasmuch as the work exhibited by this Index Map between the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers is precisely the work Which should be continued, in the same style, westward along the berks-lebanon-dauphin lime stone belt with its ores as far as the Susquehanna river ih cluding Mulbangh hill; and in fact the whole area of the Welsh mountains southward to the line of the South Val l'ey hill in Chester county.
