Publisher's Synopsis
Katherine Mansfield was one of the greatest short story writers of the 20th century. Mansfield left her native New Zealand and went to the United Kingdom where she befriended other great writers such as D.H. Lawrence and Virginia Woolf. Despite her early death from tuberculosis at the age of 34, Mansfield left a distinguished mark on literature and is still widely read today. This is a collection of fifteen short stories that was published in 1922 less than one year before her death. This is considered by many to be Mansfield's greatest work.
