Publisher's Synopsis
This is not just a book-it's an interactive, fun game that couples can use to grow closer together in their own, private spaces (e.g., curled up together on a couch at home) or while out on the town (we love to play The Game sitting across from one another at a restaurant or bar). We created "The Game" when we were dating 18 years ago. It is actually similar to the classic television show "The Newlywed Game," but in our version we play against one another (rather than couple vs. couple). Basically, we pose a question and then jot down how we'd answer it, and how we think our partner would answer the same question. The questions range from super-silly (e.g., If you could win a lifetime supply of any household product, what would it be?) to serious (e.g., If you could find the cure to any illness/disease what would it be?). At the end, we tally up how many times we correctly guessed our partner's answers, and the one with the most correct guesses is crowned the winner. Occasionally, we set stakes before a round of The Game, (a favorite is playing for a back massage), but more often than not, we play for bragging rights. Regardless of each game's particular outcome, though, through playing we share rich evenings full of engaging conversations, and in the process, learn so much about not only one another but also ourselves.
