Publisher's Synopsis

This novella is the story of a French nationalist who ignores the imperialist past of his government to go after foreigners. Fooled by the notorious far-right party in France, Bernard finally discovers the truth while underway to Paris to commit a bomb attack during the military parade of July 14th. He stays in Paris to educate himself at the Francois-Mitterrand library and changes his life. Seduced by a young graduate American lady in London, he leaves his home country to move to America.
He grasps what all nationalist militants don't understand. He becomes a hero of the small City of McAlester, making French culture popular. He opens a restaurant and allows American people to degust French delicacies. Loved and cherished by the women of the city, they urge him to run for mayor's office. Despite the brutal attack of the former mayor and his base, he wins the election and becomes the first alien to run the city.
