The world is such that when something tragic happens, a soul fragment is taken from your body. A soul fragment is just an emotion. The government wants society to live with equal amounts of happy and sad. As a Fragment Collector, you are tasked to live through everybody's traumas and happiest moments, at a test of greed and to what extent will you give to others. Through traumas, you are allowed to give some of your own happiness to others. Through happy moments, you are able to take happiness from others. Only the people who are known to be pure of heart are chosen as Fragment Collectors. This was the most respected honor I could imagine. Improving people's lives. Promoting equality. Being one with the government. At this time, I didn't know the result of Fragment Collecting, the true controlling components, the honest facts of the government's corrupt system. At most, I just thought it was cool.
