Publisher's Synopsis
The book begins with the introduction of four archetypes of boyhood: the Sacred Child, the Precocious Child, the Son of the Idipus Complex, and the Hero. These four archetypes of the boyish mentality trigger each of the archetypes of the mature male mentality in a complex way. Thus, the Sacred Child, after being conditioned and enriched by life experiences, becomes the King; the Precocious Child becomes the Magician; the Son of the Edipus Complex becomes the Lover; and the Hero becomes the Warrior. The authors also describe the function of each archetype in its full state, the shadow character at the negative and positive ends of the spectrum, and the full and robust character that results from the linking of these archetypal energies.
