The Vietnamese had no other option but to fight for their land and freedom. It was no longer a fight about communism, it was a war for freedom. However, we can never expect a war to be peaceful, but it indeed achieved the goal. After years of fighting against the US, the Vietnamese were finally able to get back their land in 1975.
