Publisher's Synopsis
This collection of illustrations is by the great Parisian cartoonist J.J Grandville, published in 1847 under the title Les Fleurs Animees. It was his final work, and it was published posthumously. With its mix of satirical and poetic elements, as well as beautiful illustration, it is considered to be among his greatest achievements. The book was originally rendered in color, expressing the rich beauty of nature.
