Trollope was a prolific writer and was responsible for many classics such as The Way We Live Now and the Chronicles of Barsetshire series. Trollope's popularity diminished near the end of the nineteenth century but he has regained much of his popularity since. The Fixed Period is a satirical dystopian novel that Trollope wrote in 1882. The plot is set in the year 1980.
