Publisher's Synopsis

This book is the result of a challenge I made to myself about writing a fictional story as a retirement project, which ended up being based upon a real area on the central coast of California with enormous sand dunes. These dunes are a special place, and the home to an eclectic group of people that lived there from the early 1900s to the mid-1960s. They were known as the Dunites. I picked a character from that group that to me looked like a hippie. But this character existed in the 1920s, long before the hippie movement. The challenge was to connect this character to the hippie movement of the 60s. This book is loosely based on an historic timeline and events with fictional characters. With the exception of some AI illustrations in this book, it is written by an untrained non-experienced human writer, as evidenced by its poor quality, which proves that it was not written or assisted by AI.
