Publisher's Synopsis
Five people stay at a bed and breakfast run by a retired couple. Each guest is haunted by memories of violent trauma. A vacation in the pine barrens of Massachusetts in midsummer seems a welcome respite from the constant encroachments of memory into their lives. The past, however, is impossible to ignore, and in the collision of personalities and desires that quickly wrecks the holiday atmosphere of the bed and breakfast each character is confronted with the horror of trauma, both in themselves and in each other.
