The Fall in My Father's House

Like Marcel Proust's Remembrance of Things Past, The Fall in my Father's House is volume one in an interrelated seven volume series under the title of the final volume, A Full Life. The titles of the full seven volume set are the following: The Fall in my Father's house, The Road to Recovery, The Book of Grace, Cased Closed, Full of Fun, The Power of Poetry in a Time of Uncertainty, and concluding with the final volume and title of the seven volume series, A Full Life. The The plot of the story is the following: a father and son take a trip to the West coast of Ireland to stay at the house that the protagonist father built over 100 years ago and to go to a music festival. On the day after their arrival, the protagonist falls down a flight of stairs in his father's house and breaks his leg. The rest of the story deals with what happens to the protagonist- both internally and externally- as a result of his fall.
