Publisher's Synopsis
Tourism is closely linked with economic activity in general and, as such, its development will inevitably be marked by the introduction of the Euro. In this text, the World Tourist Organization evaluates the impact of the introduction of the single currency on tourism in Europe and in other regions which receive European tourists and generate tourists bound for Europe.;The introduction of the Euro represents an important event, both for the countries of Europe and the rest of the world, and one which will have multiple repercussions at political, economic, regulatory and technical level. The way in which these repercussions are handled in terms of tourism will doubtless require a greater degree of co-operation between government officials with responsiblity in the field of tourism and professionals in the sector. This text provides food for thought to facilitate the implementation of joint promotion strategies among all the partners in tourism activity at national, regional and international level.
