Publisher's Synopsis
Featuring an original Arcturus translation from the Latin of The Emerald Tablet, this book is a wonderful insight into the world of Hermetic writings and ideas. Coupled with The Kyablion, these two texts together allow the reader to delve into the wisdom of Hermes and Hermeticism.
The Kybalion outlines what Atkinson believes the seven principles of Hermeticism to be:1. The principle of mentalism;
2. The principle of correspondence;
3. The principle of vibration;
4. The principle of polarity;
5. The principle of rhythm;
6. The principle of cause and effect;
7. The principle of gender. Some of these principles, as such the principle of correspondence, give more detail to the concept of 'as above, so below' as found in The Emerald Tablet. Others, such as the principle of vibration, are not found in other Hermetic writings. This makes for a fascinating mix of original source material and later New Thought interpretation of the concepts contained within the philosophy.
