These paintings were peviously catalogued in "The Earlier Italian Schools", along with works of the 15th century.;In this revised volume the previous entries have been thoroughly updated, new acquisitions have been catalogued and a number of pictures have been re-attributed.;The catalogue entries on each painting include details of condition, technique and provenance. There are also comparative illustrations, including reconstructions of altarpieces.
