Publisher's Synopsis
Many well-known specialists on this region have suggested that China has emulated the developmental state model and become part of the 'flying geese' pattern of development led by Japan, followed by the 'four little dragons' and other East Asian countries. There has, however, until now been no case study of the institutional arrangements for development in China in the light of developmental state models. The Dual Developmental State fills this gap in academic research and in our understanding of development in the region, making it an invaluable text for post-graduate courses. -
