Outcast by humanity as a child, Fendrel feels more at home with the dragons who raised him than he does with his own kind.
All his adult life he has devoted himself to defending dragons from hunters and corrupt knights seeking prestige and wealth, earning himself the title of The Liberator.
With the dragon hunters' operations slowing down, Fendrel finds himself with more time on his hands, but a request from his latest rescue soon demands his full attention. The dragon king's betrothed has gone missing, and Fendrel may be the only person who can bring her back home.
This mission should have been like any other, but Fendrel soon realizes the prospective dragon queen is just a piece in a world-changing plot by the dragon hunters to take their operation to the next level.
In a race against the clock, Fendrel and his newfound teammates must face militant dragon hunters, a royal guard set on impeding justice, and ravenous dragons driven mad by sickness. If Fendrel fails this mission, it may be his last, and all the sacrifices he made to redeem his past mistakes will have been for nothing. Even worse, another dragon would be added to the list of those he couldn't save in time.
