Steffanie Rivers has more than a decade of experience working in the commercial airline industry as a baggage handler, in-flight administrator and flight attendant. Before changing careers, she spent more than twenty years as a journalist and public affairs professional, earning numerous awards. She also served as a professor in the Communications Department at Morgan State University in Baltimore.
As a video documentary producer, Steffanie has worked from the southeastern United States to Southeast Asia. While a Fulbright-Hayes Fellow, she studied the history and culture of the Vietnamese, and she reported on the release of the late (honorable) Nelson Mandela after his twenty- five-year prison sentence in South Africa. She was a star news reporter for a CBS affiliate in North Carolina and a newswriter at the Washington, DC, FOX affiliate covering White House functions. The freelancer became a partner in Women of Ruth Entertainment and Productions to produce events and video projects that empower traditional women and families. Her second book, Power Thieves, is expected to be published in 2017.
