In 1866 famous artist Paul Gustave Dore produced illustrations for a new English version of the Bible. Dore produced a total of 238 illustrations for the new Bible, depicting scenes of Johan and the whale, the creation of light, the judgment of Solomon, Jacob wrestling with the Angel, and the defenestration of Jezebel at Jezreel. Also included in his illustrations is a depiction of Satan, the Heavenly Hosts, and Paradise Lost.
