In the cereal division we have much work going on particularly in the breeding of wheat. Remarkable progress has been made here, and we have produced varieties of wheat which are much earlier, of better quality, and produce larger crops than anything that has been introduced here from other countries. For instance, there is the famous Marquis wheat, about which you have all undoubtedly read recently - the wheat that won the prize in New York. The seed for that very sample came from the Experimental Farm here.
The grain distribution is also under the immediate charge of Dr. Saunders of the Cereal Division.
