After his daughter is found dead, Lou Sklaney murders the man he believes is responsible. Unrepentant, Lou faces the death penalty, only to awaken after his execution, very much alive and locked within the walls of a hidden monastery.
Surrounded by monks and other murderers, Lou vows to escape what he believes is a living hell. What kind of monks have black belts in Krav Maga? Are they truly the spiritual guides the Abbot claims they are? And why do people disappear from the monastery during the night?
He is not the only one with questions. His oldest friend, Rudy Kowalski, is a newspaper reporter who suspects Lou Sklaney wasn't executed. Rudy stops at nothing to find answers, despite putting his life at risk.
