Saint Catherine of Siena was a Scholastic theologian and philosopher who helped establish peace among the Italian city-states. Saint Catherine also was named one of the six patron saints of Europe by Pope John Paul II in 1999, more than 600 years after her death. The Dialogue of St. Catherine of Siena is her greatest work. The dialogue was dictated to other nuns when she was only 23 years old and consisted of subjects such as Providence, Obedience, and Truth.
