Publisher's Synopsis
"The Device." In the underground tunnels beneath Ybor City, a historical neighborhood north of Tampa Florida, a software program is running and stealing the money supplies from banks worldwide. No computer encryption can stop the program and confusion and violence intensify as the world's population begins realizing their money is simply gone. One of the two software programmers involved has been murdered and the other is running for his life. The world's most secret and powerful organization, "The Committee of 300," has deployed one of their knights of justice to find the software and "the device" it's on and retrieve it for them. The person controlling "the device" is determined to destroy the committee of 300 and re-distribute the world's wealth to the heirarchy of "La Corporacion" or the Cuban Mafia. A Washington D.C. detective investigating the murder of the software programmer follows a "captain" of the D.C. mob to Tampa and the two become directly involved when the head of the D.C. mafia asks the head of the Florida mafia to dispose of his captain. The knight, Axel Gunnar is running out of time and must find and disable "the device" before worldwide mayhem ensues. The head of "The Committee of 300" has kidnapped Tina Cherie, Axel's girlfriend as an insurance policy when he suspects Axel may destroy "the device" instead of delivering it to the committee. Tina becomes an integral part of the puzzle when she escapes her kidnappers and discovers where "the device" actually came from.
