Publisher's Synopsis
A contemporary Beauty and the Beast tale with Darius as a Demon and with Ariel as the beautiful heroine set to use her womanly guiles to save him.Darius was as old as the Earth itself. You wouldn't know that by looking at him, of course, because there were no grey hairs nor wrinkles around his startling blue eyes. As one of the damned, Darius had resided in Hades since the day and the hour that Lucifer was banished from Heaven. As a fallen angel, he had no choice but to follow the errant, one time favourite of God, to the very gates of Hell and there he had struggled and survived until the opportunity for redemption had been placed before him.He had never ceased to love his God. Many of the fallen angels - morphed to demons by an angry Lord - continued to love the Creator, but their misdeeds and their loyalty to Lucifer marked them as traitors and God was not as forgiving as humans believed Him to be. Darius and a few of his fellow demons now had a chance to free themselves from under the cloven hoof of the angel who had betrayed their Lord. After untold millennia, they were now residing amongst the living and had been given the opportunity to prove that they were worthy of forgiveness. But - and it was a big but - proving their worthiness was complicated by the fact that it would take the love of a mortal woman to secure their redemption. If a human woman fell in love with him, Darius would gain forgiveness, would be gifted mortality and be permitted to live out his years by her side. The only problem was that Darius didn't want the love of a mortal woman, and he certainly didn't want one of the frivolous, sex-crazed women who used the services of the Demon Escort Agency to be his lifetime mate. Love - as they say - is a many splendid thing but it does tend to punch you in the guts when you are least expecting it. Love also has a propensity to twist a knife in those very same guts and - when we are talking about a demon and a frail human female entangled in an affair that seems doomed - a pain in the guts is the least of it.Will Darius find the road to redemption? Will the sexual exploits with the lovely Ariel grow into true love?
