At thirty-two, Kayla Battagglia believes that she is destined to be single for the rest of her life. She has never lived outside of the house in which she was raised, dealing with one parent's illness and then another with no time for a social life. She has been all work and very little play as an adult. When she finally finds herself alone, she is living paycheck to paycheck, as a CT technician at the same hospital where she began as a candy striper in high school. Her limited social interactions leave her home on Saturday nights snuggling with her Jack Russell Terrier, Spinner. Being a realist, she has finally given up on what she truly wants, a little house in the country with a white picket fence, a loving husband, two kids and a couple of dogs. She knows it is just a pipe dream. Her best friend, Erika Livingston, however, thinks otherwise, if Kayla would just come out of her shell she could reach for the stars! When a mysterious registered letter arrives from London it sets the stage for some life altering decisions. After meeting the suave lawyer, Brent Dankworth, Kayla believes that her dreams may finally come true.
