The word andrizesthe (ἀνδρίζεσθε), which is rendered "be strong", means to act like men. In the early 21st century, it is hard for many to understand what it means to act like a man. Passivity is the virtue of this age. This is not the pattern of God. So what is the answer to weak men? Is it faux alpha males and sexist narcissists who oppress women? No! The answer is in the Word of God. If you want to be a man, you must look upward to the God who created you in His image. You must look outward to the examples of other men who have chosen to be courageous and holy as recorded in His Word. You must look inward to see what traits and practices are lacking so you can act like and be a man.
