Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from The Complete Works of Brann the Iconoclast, Vol. 7

Saul. They have seen a great light, and repented them in sack-cloth and ashes of having stoned the Rpubli can prophets. The Ethiops are the people, the white Democrats the millstone about the neck of Dixie. There appears to have been a veritable camp meeting revival of political honesty among the editors of the South's great diurnals. How much of this is due to the tearful jeremiads of Rev. Sam Jones, and how much to Mark Hanna's monev I will not presume to say; but the fact remains that the journals mentioned have deserted the white Democracy, gone over bag and baggage to the coon camp and are now striving to convince the world that the reconstruction era was a golden age, that since it passed the South has been dominated by professional thugs and political thieves.
