He battles Nazis and Japanese agents during the war, and afterward everything from perceived communist agents to alien invaders, and of course his share of super villains! He's a friend of Captain Marvel, an ally of Spy Smasher, and had a long-running (67-issue) comic run (1942-1948), as well as a popular radio series.
