The majority of what are known as domesticated cats didn't start off that way; instead, they were hunters for many years, hunting dogs out of barns and sheds until they finally found a home among people. Furthermore, regardless of how comfortable they are cuddling up next to you on the couch, their wild impulses never go away.
There are currently around 100 different breeds of cats, both domestic and imported.
