Publisher's Synopsis

Charles King (1844-1933) was a United States soldier and a distinguished writer. King was the only soldier in American history to serve in five American wars: The Civil War, the Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War, the Philippine Insurrection and World War I. He was a strong influence on Edgar Rice Burroughs, including as Commandant of the Michigan Military Academy when a young Cadet Burroughs deserted but King saw that Burroughs was rehabilitated. This two-volume collects a variety of military-related yarns.
