Publisher's Synopsis
After an examination of the contexts within which each theologian develops his thought, individual chapters of this work are devoted to a comparison and evaluation of their views of the relationship of God and world, perspectives on history and their anthropological understandings. It examines their ethical thought in regard to their positions on utopia and realism, and to the problem of order in society. The conclusion points to the necessity of developing some rapprochement of their perspectives in an attempt to ameliorate many of the weaknesses of each position taken individually.
