Publisher's Synopsis
Edward, Humphrey, Alice and Edith Beverley are left orphaned and homeless by the Civil War. They are rescued by an old family servant who suggests that they pose as his grandchildren and live with him in the New Forest. The children learn how to hunt and farm the land that surrounds their new home.
