Publisher's Synopsis
Jennifer Adshen's first day as a Domar was rough, but the second was definitely worse. The Council's plan to hide the Centress from the Kalzar invasion was barely developed when the Kalzars attacked. Now Jen is plunged into the mission of protecting the Centress, a dazzling ice ball with terrifying powers. She has no experience, no way to contact the other Domars for help, and no plan of escape when she's captured by the Kalzars. The Centress could destroy the entire realm under control of the Kalzars, who are tracking down Jen's best friend to obtain it. Jen's father has important knowledge about the Centress, but he is dying from a curse he can't tell her anything about. Jen hopes the Centress holds the answers, but when she gets mixed up in its ambiguous past, she gets much more than she bargained for.
