Hopkins').The author's second play, performed in its original run by Alan Bates, Peter Woodthorpe, Donald Pleasence, Donald McWhinnie and Brian Currah, and in 1963 made into a film starring Bates, Pleasence and Robert Shaw. This edition, appearing simultaneously in hardback and paperback, preceded by the Encore edition in the same year.
