Publisher's Synopsis
In 1978, at the request of Secretary of State Cyrus Vance on behalf of President Jimmy Carter, Sandy Simon, together with three other officers of the National Association of Arab Americans NAAA, traveled to eight Arab countries seeking the private views of their leaders of peace in the Middle East after the signing of the Egyptian-Israeli Camp David Accords, which did not include provision of a Palestinian State. As a result, the Arab world severed diplomatic relations with the United States and Egypt. This book, Mr. Simon's seventh book and the fourth based on the Middle East, is a memoir of those meetings with Arab dignitaries based on verbatim notes and photographs taken on this fact finding mission.
