The paper makes no contribution to the underlying theory nor does it attempt any simplification of the theory in Keller's paper. It does set forth the background.material necessary for the calculation of reflected radiation fields by the use of Keller's formula and shows in some detail what the essential steps are like in the case of an ellipsoidal surface. One case of general interest, namely the case where source and observation point coincide (as in radar devices) and lie on one of the principal axes of the ellipsoid, can be carried through with literal coefficients.
