Allie Cooper is a beautiful woman living a miserable life, working day in and day out for a railroad company. One day, her monotonous life is made even worse when her boss, Sam commits an unthinkable act. He chooses not to take responsibility for what he's done and soon Allie is answering an ad in the Matrimonial Times, seeking a new life for herself. She exchanges letters with a farmer in Kansas who eventually proposes to her. Allie accepts his proposal and soon makes the journey west.
