Publisher's Synopsis
'The Box Car of Fun' is set in America in the golden years before the Great War, when vaudeville was king and cinema was in its silent infancy. Arthur Dandoe is a young comedian with the famous Fred Karno company, heading to America to try his luck on the booming vaudeville scene. He hopes this will be a new start for him with the light of his life, the beautiful Tilly Beckett. But also on the trip is his ambitious and ruthless rival, one Charlie Chaplin. Charlie is not a man to play particularly fair, either professionally or romantically, and Tilly, it seems is far from immune to his charm. It's tough when your deadly rival is destined to become the most celebrated comedian on the planet, but can Arthur still find a way to come out on top?
