Publisher's Synopsis

The Book of Juniper is a poet and artist collaboration: a collection of new poems by Tom Paulin with drawings by Noel Connor. Tom Paulin has published two books of poems, A State of Justice (1977) and The Strange Museum (1980). The poems of The Book of Juniper were written after The Strange Museum, and are concerned with cultural identity. Noel Connor has worked with poets on several publications, including Gravities (1979), a collection of drawings from poems by Seamus Heaney. 'In response to Heaney's poetry,' wrote Roger Garfitt, 'these drawings become themselves, discover their own direction and develop their own concerns. They establish their own tone, which is different from Heaney's.'
