Publisher's Synopsis
In 1893, struggling artist Charles Delaware Tate works alone in a garret in New York City. His life changes when he meets Eloise Verinder. Fastforward to 1920 and Charles is now living alone in a sanatorium. He is still painting, even though he is blind. A new nurse arrives, eager to hear the story of his rise and fall.
