The discovery of an ancient artefact from Atlantis sparks an outbreak of crime and violence in Gotham city. The black egg of Atlantis seems to exert a sinister hold over Gotham's population. So alluring is its evil that the avian master of crime, Penguin, comes out of hiding to steal it.
