Dear sir - The Bibliography of Vermont, or a List of Books and Pamphlets relating in any way to the State, with biographical and other notes; prepared by M. D. Gilman, Montpelier, represents much thought and time and labor of its author. The work was done by him during his years of retirement from active business and in love and loyalty to his native State. We, his surviving children, as the only heirs of his beloved wife, Mrs. M. M. Gilman, have in our possession and ownership corrected slips of the whole work as published in 187 9-80 in the Argus and Patriot, together with the author's addi tions made from time to time until his decease, January 5, 1889.
