Publisher's Synopsis

"The Barber "was designed by Gary Grimshaw to promote a show at the Grande Ballroom featuring the Jagged Edge on April 21, 1967. This is the first restoration of a Grimshaw vintage design to be completed after his passing. Gary worked for more than a decade to restore his classic designs and prepare them for modern publishing methods. This particular central image is a drawing that Gary modeled from a photograph of him taken by his friend Leni Sinclair. His treatment of the finished drawing not only provides us with a rare self-portrait but it is a vision of his fine artistry and the body of work to follow. This work was completed only six months into his design career, which ultimately lasted over 45 years. In creating the new "Barber" from a single-color to a multi-color design, each line was lovingly restored in keeping with Gary's own design choices in previous restorations.

Posters are printed on 12lb. cardstock acid-free paper from a sustainable source.
